Rebecca (Becky) S. Robinson, age 70, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She never wavered in her faith and trust in God and her belief in a heavenly afterlife. She was a very unique and caring individual, who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Becky was born in 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, but spent the majority of her life living in Overland Park, Kansas. She was a compassionate lover of animals and was employed at the 'Land of Paws' pet store in Prairie Village, Kansas for over twenty years. She enjoyed a natural ability and passion to work with domestic animals of all kinds throughout her life.
Becky and her husband, Chuck, were married for forty-six years and were blessed with two children, a daughter, Jennifer and a son, Timothy. She always had a cheerful disposition and was devoted to her friends and family.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and James Swafford; and a brother, John Swafford. She is survived by her husband, Chuck, of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Haff and her husband, Michael, of Overland Park, Kansas; a son Tim Dinneen and his wife, Jamie, of Basehor, Kansas; a sister, Phyllis Story and her husband, Ronald, of Independence, Missouri; a brother, James Swafford Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Kansas City, Kansas; as well as four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66204, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
