Rita Marie Ehemann of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home, February 24th, 2021. Rita was born August 19th 1949 to Rodolfo (Rudy) Lopez and Isabel Lopez (Flores). Rita received a BA in Business from Park University in 1992 and a Master’s of Science in Business from Central Michigan University in 1999. Rita was retired from Kansas City Power and Light where she served as a Facilities Supervisor. Since her retirement Rita volunteered for CASA, volunteered and fostered puppies at Animal Haven (now Great Plains SPCA) and worked part-time for a year at Banfield Pet Hospital. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Kristina Ehemann. Surviving relatives include daughter, Lindsay Thompson and husband, Chris, of Spicewood, Texas; and grandson, Preston Thompson; sister, Helen Brewer and husband, John, of Overland Park, Kansas; brother, Richard Lopez of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, John Lopez and wife, Gail, of Independence, Missouri.
A private family gathering will begin at 1:00pm with live-streaming of special speakers beginning at 1:30pm on Saturday, February 27 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel. The service will be live-streamed through the McGilley & Hoge Chapel's Facebook page. A public visitation will follow the conclusion of the service from 2:30pm until 5pm.
