Robert "Bob" Cradit

March 14, 1958April 1, 2021

Robert “Bob” Cradit, 63, passed away on April 1, 2021. Bob was born March 14, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas to parents Len and Betty Cradit. Growing up with his sister Vicki, they graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School, where he enjoyed skiing, fishing and being around his close friends. Through a myriad of jobs in automotive, garage doors, asphalt, and more, he found his career in tow and recovery. Growing from driving a wrecker, into a rollback, and finally supporting heavy recoveries where he thrived, eventually training others across the U.S. on safe and effective methods.

Bob became a father at 22, to his daughter Shannon. Again, at 24 to his son Jason and his final daughter, Krystal, came when he was 29. He loved his children deeply, doing what he could, trying to bring his unique flavor of humor and laughter into their lives. Outside of work, Bob would spend his time watching the Kansas Jayhawks with his sister Vicki and brother-in-law Rob, or daughter Shannon. Whenever possible, he would be on the lake fishing, skiing, tubing, or just cruising looking for fireworks, fun or ice-cream.

Knowing Bob meant knowing how to laugh and forgetting what time it was. Never knowing a stranger, his kindness and hospitality were an infectious treat felt by all those who were lucky enough to meet him, on boat docks, or gas stations, hospitals, or in his career. Knowing him meant you knew to cover your ears when he started to sing, which was often. Later in life, he found a new community with the motorcycle club, Soldiers for Jesus. He adored these men and women appreciating their selfless acts of generosity and compassion.

Bob was preceded in death by Len Cradit, his father. Survived by, his mother, Betty Cradit; his three children, Shannon with husband Carlos, Jason with wife Faye, and Krystal with her husband Eric; and his seven grandchildren, Aiden, Andrew, Anthony, Brayden, Casey, Layla and Wesley; his sister, Vicki and brother-in-law Rob, and his nieces, Aaliyah and Ambria.

Services will be held on Friday, April 9th at 10:00 AM at Living Proof Church (32401 Harmony Rd, Paola, KS 66071) followed by a reception at Bob’s house. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Epilepsy Foundation (

So many great memories of laughter filled moments and time spent with Bob over the years. Some of my personal favorites were watching Bob slalom water skiing at the lake always requesting the boat driver to go faster (that man could ski), Bob playing Santa Claus for all the nieces/nephews on Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's house, the time Bob about drowned me hanging on for dear life as he took me for a wild ride on his jet ski, and peaceful mornings out on the lake fishing at the crack of dawn.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Shannon, Jason, and the entire Cradit family. May God bless you and give you peace during this time. - Love Uncle Hal

My husband knew and worked with Bob many times over throughout the years. He always spoke so highly of Bob. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and he was always kind to me, and his laughter was infectious. He will be greatly missed not only by his tow family but by everyone he met. I am so sorry for his family’s loss.
