

Robert Paul “Bobby” Weed, age 60, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013. A Celebration of Bobby’s Life will be held at 1 pm, Friday, December 13, 2013 at VIP Quality Services, 851 N. Mart-Way Drive, Olathe, Kansas. Inurnment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, Illinois at a later date.
Bobby enjoyed daily social interactions and activities at VIP Day Services. Previously he retired from workshop after 35 years. Bobby enjoyed movies, swings at the park, going to the mall, and bowling. In younger days, he was an avid swimmer, whom his parents described “like a porpoise in the water!” He enjoyed travelling with his parents to Disneyland, Disneyworld, Jamaica, and his long walks with his grandfather, Papa Don. Bobby loved riding on trains and hearing the train whistles, playing with “Big Deck” cards, listening to music, dancing, and eating bowls of popcorn with Mom and Dad. Being a fan of Mickey Mouse, his room was decorated with Mickey Mouse décor and he was often seen wearing a red (his favorite color) Mickey Mouse shirt.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Georgia Weed; and a nephew, Scott Van Coevern. Bobby is survived by: a sister, Debbie (Jim) Van Coevern of Lakewood, CO; a brother, Bruce (Diane) Weed of Chandler, AZ; and a nephew, Kevin Van Coevern of Lakewood, CO.
Since 1995, Bobby resided in residential services, most recently at Cornerstone Supports, LLC. The family wishes to acknowledge all of the dedicated individuals for their hard work, compassion, and for their loving attention to Bobby’s special needs and for his care.
