Robin Sue was born on March 16, 1966 to Dr. Merle Bean and Pat (Gray) Bean in Des Moines, IA. She married Paul Mills on September 26, 1999. They lived in Des Moines, IA before moving to the Kansas City area in 2005. Their son Stephen Bean (with Chelsea Gilpin) made her a grandmother in 2015 and Robin loved seeing her grandson as often as she could.
Robin had a very diverse work background which included waitressing at various restaurants and sales in many different areas. She also had a degree in nursing. She spent time as an account executive for Cumulus radio group in Kansas City and also in Des Moines, IA.
Her biggest passion was riding roller coasters with her favorite being the Millennium Force at Cedar Point Amusement park. She loved to travel and often visited her favorite amusement parks around the country.
She loved to cook and entertain people. She spent time as an assistant chef at various restaurants in the Kansas City area. She threw parties and spent time with friends whenever she could.
She enjoyed many different past times, one of which was watching her favorite team the Hawkeyes. One of her favorite stories was that of the Wizard of Oz and she often watched the shows and collected memorabilia about the witch. One such quote she shared on Facebook in 2014; “Women are Angels and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly…. On a broomstick. We’re flexible like that.” One way or another Robin will be watching over us.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Merle Bean and mother, Patsy (Gray) Bean. Shortly after her passing her son Stephen also passed (7/1/2016). She is survived by her husband, Paul Mills; grandson, Lane Tyler Bean; brother, Stephen Bean of Des, Moines, IA; sister, Nancy Doyle of Ames, IA and many other extended family members along with a few close friends.
