Roger L. Harris, 75, Lenexa, KS, passed away March 25, 2011. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, March 29 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will precede the service from 10-11 AM. Burial will be at Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, MO.
Roger was born January 26, 1936 in Falls City, NE, the second of six children of William C. and Vivian (Schaeffer) Harris. He served as a paratrooper for two years in the US Army at Ft. Bragg. After leaving the service, Roger was a machinist at the Kansas City Star for many years. He retired from employment at Henry Wurst Co. Roger enjoyed making guitars and other stringed instruments. He loved life, his daughter, his grandson, and his family. He is survived by a daughter, Tracey Harris; a grandson, Max; two brothers: Garry (Donna) Harris, and Robert Harris; a sister: Mildred New; and numerous nieces and nephews.
