

Rose Maiorano, 86, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at Villa St. Francis where she resided for the past five years. Rose was born February 11, 1924 in Auburn, NY, and was the older of two children born to the late Frank and Lena Regazzi. Rose graduated from Central High School in Auburn and retired from General Electric after 30 years. Rose was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was married to Alfonso Maiorano on February 9, 1946. Rose’s special talents were her baking of Italian cookies and knitting. At Christmas time, all friends and relatives could look forward to receiving a big tray of several varieties of her Italian cookies. Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by husband Al and brother Ed Regazzi. She is survived by a son Larry and daughter-in-law Pat, of Overland Park; one grandchild Gina Maiorano McIntyre of Portland, OR., and sisters-in-law Jean Nobile of Auburn, NY, and Helen Regazzi of Skaneateles, NY. A rosary will be said at McGilley & Hoge Chapel on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. Rose will be laid to rest at the National Veteran’s Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS, along with her husband Al. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Villa St. Francis, 16600 W. 126th St., Olathe, KS 66062.
