In memory of Ruby F. Prata, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on January 10th, 2019. She was born in Marburg, W. Germany on January 27th, 1948 to Master Sgt. John and Gertrude Teasley. Ruby spent her early years as a soldier's daughter and later years as an Army wife. She was a true patriot and loved her country and those who serve. She developed and taught a German language and customs curriculum for soldiers in Hohenfels and Hanau, Germany in the 1970's and 80's. Her intelligence, wit and spirit was infectious with a wonderful sense of humor and easy laugh. Ruby loved life, people, her pets and is missed by her surviving husband, Michael; family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 at 10:00 am. Ruby's final wish was to be cremated and some of her ashes scattered in Marburg, Germany, as well as inurnment in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. No flowers, please, but memorial contributions in Ruby's name are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or a similar charity, would be greatly appreciated.
