Russell Benedict Geschwind, 93, passed away at his home in Longwood, Florida, on July 16, 2011. He was born and raised and lived in Kansas City, Missouri until retiring in Florida in 1981. His wife, Magdalene, preceded him in death in February 2009 after almost 70 years of marriage.
Russell is survived by 4 children: Mac Geschwind, Connie Murphy, Kathleen Woodruff, and Jude Coward; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was known for his warmth, wit, love for his family, and his passion for golf and bridge. Visitation will be at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS, from 9-10 AM on Friday, July 22, followed by a service at 10 AM. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery in Prairie Village. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
