Sharon Yvonne Davis, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her home in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born on April 10, 1946 to Onie Mae Bush and Denorval Tolliver, and shared a wonderful childhood with her two brothers, Larry “Pookie” Tolliver and Gregory Tolliver. Both her parents and her brothers preceded her in death. Sharon worked as an Executive Assistant for several prestigious organizations, including recently, her 16-year tenure at Swope Health. As a virtuous Christian woman, she always put God first and walked totally by faith and not by sight. Some of her greatest contributions included organizing and facilitating women’s retreats, prayer breakfasts, and youth groups. Sharon loved to travel, shop, read, and plan events; but most of all, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Sharon’s fastidious style and fashion showcased her grace and elegance to all who met and knew her. Her earliest ambition was to be a Newscaster. She loved to laugh and will always be remembered by others as a loving, fun, and kind person. Sharon is survived by her 5 children: Denorval Irving (Nellie), ShaRaye Roberson (Bob), Emanuel Davis (Kim), LaShonda Davis, and Courtney Archie (Gabriel); her 10 grandchildren, Stephen Roberson, Phillip Roberson, Alexis Irving, Tori Davis, Kaitey Davis, Paige Davis, Aneisa Rohleder, Jordyn Hudgens, Christian Archie, and Camryn Archie, and her only great-grandchild, Kobe Roberson. Sharon touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed by all of us.

Sharon's service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 16 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel. Her service will be live-streamed through the McGilley & Hoge Chapel's Facebook page for those who may not be able to attend in person.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mcgilleyhoge.com for the Davis family.

Momma Davis…you were such an amazing second mom to me as Court and I constantly kept the teenage years full of surprises. You took care of me as if I were your own and even let me nap in your comfy bed. There are so many memories I have as you were such a big part of my life. This loss is really hard. I love you. I miss you. I’m sorry I didn’t spend more time with you in my adult years. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Miss Sharon was always a bright spot in my day no matter what. I could always count on her to have a cheery, 'Good morning' or how are you doing Janice, no matter how busy she was. Sometimes I would just sit and listen to her sage advice or just take the comfort she would offer as a friend. There are too many other things Miss Sharon did for me that I can't even begin to list here through her time at Swope. It was a pleasure and an honor to have had her as a friend, elder sister, a confidante and an inspiration. I have missed her presence at Swope and I will always miss her smile, her gentle ways and her love. I offer my condolences to her family, you have a treasure who will be truly missed. I remember all the fun and laughs at the Davis house! I spent many a weekends torturing Sharaye, Shonda, and Manny (never Courtney, she was my baby) with my bossy ways and continuous pranks! They may not have always wanted me to visit, but Sharon always let me come over and treated me like one of her own. She had a beautiful smile and gave the BEST hugs! I pray your fond memories of your mom comfort you all when you are down. Rest In Peace Sharon Davis

I was fortunate to have Ms. Davis’s touch of love during my formative years. Needless to say, she had a huge impact on my development into a woman.
I was with the Davis family almost every weekend, spring breaks, Christmas breaks, birthdays (Shonda and I are a day apart) and even a family vacation, which was a loooooong train ride from Kansas City to Orlando, Florida (guess whose idea LOL – she kept everything fun)! During that trip, Shonda and I were trying to have the same shopping skills as Ms. Davis, but we fell short and almost missed the return train. I can still remember those eyes and stern look of love from Ms. Davis.
From the laughs, the shopping, the eating out, the momma/daughter talks, the visits to Ms. Stuckey’s salon, the junior steward meeting (and dare to say youth ushers around Ms. Davis – she would cringe LOL), the choir rehearsals to the weekend girl slumber parties with her yummy special graham cracker treat, I was blessed to be in the company of Ms. Davis and call her my second mother. She loved me like I was her very own.
Ms. Davis, I will miss your smile, your style and grace, your confidence, your humor AND hearing you call me Jaeeeeese.
Rest peacefully beautiful lady. You are loved forever.

To the family of Sharon Davis, may God show you favor in your time of sorrow. Your mother was well loved and will be greatly missed. I have fond memories of her from the time I was a child when she was taking Denorval "Dewayne" to visit his cousin's George and Robert, to the days of Greater Corinthian Church as our families grew and grew up together. Several years had past and we reunited here at Swope. I will always remember the conversations we had about the past and the future and she will always be in my heart and your family's in my prayers.
Be at peace Davis family, for this Saint has gone to be with the Lord and she won't suffer any longer. Condolences from the Walker Family, Barbara, Sheila, Joy and Crystal

Sending my condolences to the family of sister Sharon Davis. I pray God comforts you in this time of sorrow. I met sister Davis when I was a member of Greater Corinthian church. Sister Davis one of the most loving and graceful people I have ever met. She always welcomed me with a hug and smile. She and my mom worked together in the soup kitchen. She was always so generous and kind. I was blessed to know her. May you rest peacefully sis Davis.

With love Benita Petty, Doris Robinson and family.
