Shirley Jean Day, 83 of Basehor, Kansas, formerly of Mission, Kansas, passed away January 9, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born November 1, 1927 in Chicago, Ill. Her parents were John and Martha (McKekan) McLaren. Shirley grew up in Gillespie Ill. and graduated from Gillespie High School. She worked and retired from Hallmark after 34 years of faithful service. Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, William A. Day, 1 Daughter: Diana Day McLaury and husband Jim, 1 granddaughter: Bethany Novo-Gradac and husband Paul, 2 great grandchildren: Anna Marie Novo-Gradac and Bus Novo-Gradac. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas with Visitation From 6:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Funeral Home.
