Vernon Richard (Dick, Vern, Davy or Reddy Kilowatt) Davy, age 98, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away on April 26, 2022 at home. Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 14th at St. Mary Magdalene’s Episcopal Church, 16808 Holmes Road, Belton, Missouri 64012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Magdalene’s Episcopal Church or The Single Mom KC. (Since this is a celebration, we would like to see people wear bright colors and smiles. He was happy and lived a blessed life).
He was born on September 19, 1923 in Petoskey, Michigan. Dick served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea (1st Class Petty Officer). He was member of the American Legion Post #370, Commemorative Air Force, LCT Flotillas, the Abdallah Shrine and an active member of St. Peter and All Saints Episcopal Church and St. Mary Magdalene’s Episcopal Church. Dick retired from TWA – Kansas City Maintenance Base.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Frances “Fran” E. (Halstead) Davy of almost 60 years; his parents, Herbert and Elsie (Linton) Davy; his daughter, Christine “Cricket” Lynn Davy; his brother, Bob; his sisters, Dorothy and Florence; and nephew, Speed.
Survivors include his son, Richard A. Davy; daughter, Kim D. (Davy) Gerhardt and her husband, Don; grandson, Andrew Gerhardt and his wife, Katie; great-grandchildren, Bailey (17), Evan (4) and Owen (2); niece, Sheridan; nephews, Chuck, Steve and Bob; and nieces, Gayle and Kim.
