He served in the US Navy during World War II from 1944-1946 and the Navy Reserves until 1954. He married his wife, Hilda, in 1947 after the War. From 1966-1986, he owned Harryman Jewelers in downtown Overland Park, KS. He enjoyed fishing, jewelry making, cooking, and his family. His wife of 61 years, Hilda preceded him in death in 2008. He is survived by: his son, Keith Harryman and wife, Shirley; his daughter, Joan O’Hare and husband, Jim; grandsons: Andy and Timothy O’Hare; and one sister, Betty Ann Forcum of Independence, MO.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 2, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, with a visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to the service. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice House, 3516 Summit St., Kansas City, MO 64111.
