William Stanley “Stan” Nieman, age 91, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. A visitation for Stan will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66204, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. Burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66227.
Stan was born on March 22, 1934 in Cameron, Missouri. He had an older sister, Mary, and two younger siblings, Nancy and John. He married in 1952 to Beverly Nieman, the love of his life. They had 72 beautiful years together. Their daughter, Sandy was born in 1967. Stan joined the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He received his Marine Corps training at Camp Pendelton, California and they lived in Oceanside, California. After his years in the Marines, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Stan attended the University of Nebraska. At this time, he was also learning to fly. Stan enjoyed flying and often took family and friends to fly with him. He was recruited from the University to work for French’s Company and they moved to Overland Park, Kansas. He spent his career with French’s, rising to be the Midwest Division Manager. He built a beautiful life for his wife, Beverly and daughter, Sandy. In 1995, he became a grandfather to Samuel Thomas and again in 2000 to Katherine Rose. Stan was a dedicated, kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, the Marines and flying. Stan was loved by everyone who knew him.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; and two of his siblings.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Nieman; brother John Nieman; grandson, Sam White; granddaughter, Katie White; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
