My sincerest condolences to Patricia Violett and the entire extended Violett family. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Bob Violett. He was without a doubt one of the greatest innovators of the hobby - he elevated model jets to the forefront of the RC Model World.

I attended Jets Over Deland way back in 1996. Even being on the other side of the globe, BV has left a lasting impression to this day.

With sincere sympathy,

So sorry to hear about his passing. He was a huge inspiration to me and my love of RC jets. After reading about him in the magazines while growing up, I first met him in 1998 at Fentress, Va, for one of my first jet events. I remember him spending several hours describing the new turbine technology and safety that went with it. He had a JPX powered Bandit back then. I found him to be approachable, realistic, sincere, and passionate about our sport and hobby. Through the years, he was always willing to give advice and help, even if it wasn't his product, although he scoffed at the other products often lol. I loved his motto, "Buy cheap, buy twice." He took his business seriously and understood the risks of prematurely selling a product which wasn't thoroughly tested.

He was a good man and I'm going to miss him. My condolences to the entire family. RIP, my friend.

We share our Sympathy and Sorrow in the loss of our dear friend Bob. As hobbyists, the industry has lost a true visionary, who’s endless dedication and the passion to succeed with nothing but excellence, will deeply be missed.
In the early eighties, Nancy and I, along with our two young children were made welcome in Winter Springs as we participated in “Jets Over Deland”, parking our motor home in Bobs driveway.
There, we witnessed the businessman at the BVM factory and all the while being the devoted husband and loving father.
We will all miss you as you fly West. God Bless.

Meet Bob at Florida Jets several years ago. We talked about TurbX fans - which I have one of - and other innovations he was responsible for. From all the aviation folks in Atlantic Canada, RIP.

Dear Bob, thank you for inspiring me since 1994 when I built my first BVM Ducted Fan Jet and also including me as one of your Field Representatives.

I often think back to those facsimiles we would send each other between the USA and Zimbabwe, I will miss our discussions.

My deepest condolences to Patty and all the family.

Fly high, my dear friend.
