Dec 20, 1933, Paw Paw, W Va – Aug 19, 2018 Orlando, Fla.
Carrie came into this world one of 10 children from Bern and John Galliher. Five boys and Five girls. She is preceded in death by her parents and her two husbands, Albert Taylor and LaVerle Darrah. Carrie and Albert (Bud) had and raised 4 children, Lewis James (Deceased). Bertha, husband Billy (deceased), Buddy and his wife T, Toni and her husband Dale, and Tracie and her husband Jeff. These unions produced 8 grandchildren. Becky, Jessica, Ryan, Sara, Nelson (deceased), Sadie, Jeffrey and Emma. Which also gave Carrie many Great Grandchildren. Carrie taught them everything from the importance of giving to others, how to make their way around a kitchen, the importance to appreciate this great nation we all live in today and never to forget that Jesus is our true Master. She is survived by her two sisters, Merry Carol Niner, LeNetta Nield, and her brother Michael Galliher. Family was important to Carrie and she gave to her family selflessly. She worked hard in the factory when she first came to Baltimore from Western Maryland and finally retired from the Elevator Department at CR Daniels, Ellicott City, Maryland. She was faithful to her church and her life was filled with music. She was part of a trio that sang in churches and went to shut ins as well. She spent many Saturday mornings collecting food from various stores with her granddaughter, Sadie, and they would take it to those in need in the church and surrounding areas. She made the most from the least… her mother made her underwear out of flour sacs as a child. Later in life she lost a great deal of her mobility and eye sight… and yet she could tell you how to bake a cake and just where things were in her house. She would reach out to various other friends and distance relatives on the phone. She had stories to share and words of wisdom to pass on. There are many who have their own stories of how she helped them get started in life and taught them how to move forward.
Her physical body is gone and yet the spirit of this woman will live on the laughter of a child, the music in the air and every “Yes Jesus Love Me” from here until Jesus calls us home.
