Cheryl Lynn Groce, age 76, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Cheryl passed due to complications following heart surgery at Advent Health in Orlando, FL.
Cheryl was born in Brookline, Massachusetts to William Jacob Cloues II and Edith Beryl (Moshier) Cloues. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
During the forty-plus years she worked as a registered nurse, Cheryl enjoyed a hobby of casting, firing, and painting ceramic dolls, which eventually led to collecting dolls from a wide variety of commercial doll artists. She cherished raising her three daughters while serving as a children’s leader in the Bible Study Fellowship and Sunday school teacher at Faith Community Church in Hopkinton, MA.
Cheryl will be remembered as the “event planner” of the family, and over the last few decades, Disney World became a favorite location for reunions and general celebrations. She was raised with an ever-present dog in her family, and there is one today that misses her. Those who knew Cheryl will remember she had a quiet, gentle inner spirit and enjoyed the company of family and close friends. She championed her daughters’ careers and goals, and whenever possible, her home was the center for family gatherings during birthdays, holidays, or organizing extended family gatherings. She read and studied her Bible on a daily basis, along with a variety of other books.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Robert H. Groce, along with her daughters, Sharyn Oliver, Laurie Germaine, and Julie Groce, and four grandchildren, Bryce Oliver, Brooke Oliver, Braelyn Germaine, and Brina Germaine.
A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10:30am with a
“Celebration of Life” memorial service will be held from 11am-12pm at the Aloma Church on 1815 State Road 436 in Winter Park, FL.
