Cindy Lynn Conner was born on August 17, 1958 to her mother, Shirley and her father, Lynn, in San Luis Obispo, California. In 1963 her father accepted a job with the Martin Marietta Corporation and the family settled in the Orlando area. In 1968, the family moved to Oviedo where Cindy would develop life long friendships that would endure almost 50 years. Growing up Cindy loved to ride with her friends on their horses through the many orange groves in the area and around Lake Charm. She enjoyed playing pool and became quite proficient at it, even winning a few tournaments. As Cindy grew up, her interests expanded and she enjoyed music, dancing, and fun nights out with close friends. She took dancing lessons and became an excellent dancer. She enjoyed going on cruises with friends, trying exotic drinks, and snorkeling or scuba diving in beautiful blue clear water. She enjoyed going on an occasional gambling junket with her mother and sister or friends. She chose accounting as her profession and was very good at finding hidden mistakes. Her boss, Alice, would often say that Cindy made her look good! Cindy enjoyed watching certain TV series, mostly period pieces. Two of her favorites were the Tudors and Downton Abbey. Shortly before her passing, Cindy took her dream trip to the UK with her close friend Carolyn. While there they were able to visit the grounds of Downton Abbey. As Cindy described it, "It was the best day ever!". Cindy had two favorite young women in her life. Her step daughter, Amanda, and her niece, Valentina. Both of them and their happiness meant the world to her. In the weeks prior to her passing, Cindy was surrounded by her loving family and friends who enjoyed together the wonderful memories they had shared. Cindy lost her brave battle against melanoma, always worrying how her illness was affecting those around her more than herself. She joins her beloved mother Shirley, who preceded her in death. She is deeply missed by all those she has left behind. Among them; her father Lynn; her sister Christy; her brother Craig; her step daughter Amanda; and her niece Valentina. Others that will miss her presence are her cousins, life long friends, her step mom and co workers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be given in Cindy's name to Hospice of the Comforter; www.HospiceoftheComforter.org or Melanoma Research Foundation; www.melanoma.org.
