Most days he felt like a “million dollar baby”.
“Pop” passed on July 16th, 2020 at the age of 99.
He is survived by his daughters, Janis Altner, Valerie St. John and his son Daniel P. Cuebas, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and a number of nieces that called him “Tio Danielito”.
He was a loving, caring husband to Oilda Cuebas, always cooking her meals and making her laugh over the nearly 70 years they were married.
Oilda and Daniel lived in their home in Winter Springs, FL for 40 years and loved listening to Latin music and being with family.
He served in the military during WWII from 1941-1945 in Hawaii and Panama.
Born in Mayaguez, Pop always had his homeland of Puerto Rico in his heart although he followed his brothers and raised his family in Wantagh, NY.
He was an electrician by trade, even in his old age breaking VCR’s to try and repair them again. Most times this was unsuccessful.
He enjoyed making people laugh, joking around, and lived a very healthy, happy life.
Daniel and Oilda are now dancing together in the afterlife.
We carry on with you in our hearts.
Besame mucho!
