David Charles Anderson

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of David Anderson, who left us on July 15th, 2026 at the age of 75. David’s journey began on January 7th, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN, who preceded him in death alongside his aunts and uncles. David’s life was one of dedication, love, and service, tied together by the threads of family, friends, and a distinguished career.

After graduating from Central High School in Norwood, MN, David briefly attended Gustavus Adolphus College before committing himself to the US Navy in 1971. His service to his country was a calling that he answered with unwavering pride and commitment. Returning to the University of Minnesota after an honorable discharge in 1975, he earned a doctorate degree in dental surgery. His passion for service led him to re-enter the military, this time with the US Army, where he proudly wore the uniform for over two decades, retiring as a board certified prosthodontist with the rank of LTC on February 29, 2000.

David’s career did not end there, he joined a private Dental Practice in Columbia, SC, before moving to Wisconsin and continuing his work at Dental Associates. Eventually he settled in Florida to enjoy his golden years surrounded by the warmth of the South and love of his family.

David was so much more than his accomplishments, he was a man of character, integrity, warmth, and wit. All who knew him will forever recall his infectious smile and sarcastic, but never mean-spirited, sense of humor. He was a dedicated service member, mentor to many, and a deeply beloved husband and father. His love for life was evident in his pursuits—whether it was riding his Harley Davidson, driving his Porsche, cheering for his children in all their endeavors, or playing golf with family and friends.

In 1987, David married the love of his life Ute in Charleston, SC, before returning to Germany on his assignment. Together they built a beautiful life and family, raising their two children Ian and Annika while supporting his daughter Nicole from a previous marriage. David is survived by his wife Ute, his children, his sister Cindy, brother-in-law Ron Skalicky, his nieces Shayna Anderson and Lauren Sietsema, his nephew Andy Skalicky, and their families. He will also be fondly remembered by his lifelong friends who were as dear to him as family.

Service was integral to David’s life, exemplified through his commitment as an Eagle Scout and nearly 30 years in the military. Yet his greatest devotion was to his loved ones, who were his world just as he was theirs.
