

Derrick was known for his strength, kindness, and the quiet way he cared for those around him. He touched many lives through his friendship, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. Those who knew him will remember his warm heart, his gentle spirit, and his sense of humor that brought comfort and joy to the people he loved.
He had a deep passion for his work in the Modeling and Simulation industry supporting the Department of Defense. Over a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years, Derrick was widely respected for his expertise and dedication. His contributions played an important role in advancing technologies that supported and prepared our nation’s warfighters.
Derrick also had an adventurous spirit. Over the years he embraced experiences such as skydiving, hiking on Mount Washington, and even driving a Lamborghini on a test track. Later in life, his greatest joy became his family. He devoted himself to raising his son and creating lasting memories together. Derrick especially cherished family trips to the North Georgia mountains to enjoy the fall foliage and visiting national parks around the country.
He leaves behind family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Derrick will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A visitation will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 501 E MITCHELL HAMMOCK RD, OVIEDO, FL 32765, US, on March 14, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
