

In loving memory of Lt. Col. Donald Wayne Solano, a dedicated and honorable man who served our country and his family with pride. Donald, age 68, of Oviedo, FL, passed away on July 3. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Connie, his son Chris, his daughter Brittany, and grandsons Kolton and Nixon.
Born in Macon, GA to John and Dorothy Solano, Donald was an avid student and athlete, and is survived by his brothers Keith, Mike, and Mark. Donald had a thirst for knowledge and his education included a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of New York, a B.A. in English from Mississippi College, and a Master of Science in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.
Like his father, Donald had a storied career in the United States Air Force that spanned 33 years. From supporting operation Vigilant Warrior in the middle east as Commander of the 54th Combat Communications squadron, to branch chief of the Information Protection Branch at the Pentagon, to Commander of the 613th Air Communication Squadron in Guam, Donald's commitment and sacrifice will be forever remembered by friends, family, and a grateful nation.
Donald lived his life guided by his faith in Christ and a love for his family. In his free time, Donald was a passionate golfer, loved to entertain his grandsons, and always had a song in his heart. Donald will be forever missed.
A public visitation will occur Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 501 E MITCHELL HAMMOCK RD, OVIEDO, FL 32765. A memorial service with military honors for Donald will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 501 E MITCHELL HAMMOCK RD, OVIEDO, FL 32765. A catered reception will occur Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 501 E MITCHELL HAMMOCK RD, OVIEDO, FL 32765.
