Ed was born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1938 and grew up in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. He graduated high school, joined the United States Marine Corps, and worked a career with the Bell System, retiring after 38 years from AT&T. He married Geraldine “Jerry” Readmond in 1959. They raised 2 children, a son and daughter. In 1979 Ed and Jerry moved to Central Florida and settled in Winter Springs. Ed was a devoted husband and loving father. He was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Casselberry, Florida, where he was an usher and carpenter, creating custom pieces still in use by the church today. His love of wood working saw him create hundreds of beautiful gifts, furniture pieces, and American flag cases that he presented to many grateful families of fallen veterans. His volunteer work included active service in the Marine Corps League, something he and Jerry both enjoyed together. He will be remembered by family and friends as a gentle man who would give a stranger the shirt off his back if it was needed.
Ed joins his bride Jerry in eternal rest after 60 years together. He is survived by his daughter Kelly / husband Ted: son Ed /wife Diane; and grandsons Eddie, Ted, Ben and granddaughter Stephanie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
