     Mrs. Gehret was always so kind. She was a mother through and through with unconditional love for her family.  She would go out of her way to make sure I had something to eat, and we would just sit around laughing at the stories she had of Jay in school. You could always see a sparkle in her eye when she talked about Jay. Her face told you how proud she was of him.  She was the only person who ever made me an Easter basket other than my own mother and she made me a stocking for Christmas. She thought of me, where it was never expected, which truly shows how thoughtful and unselfish she was. 

     Although I only knew her for a short time, I am so grateful to have met Mrs. Gehret and thankful for all she gave to me. 

Betsy was a great mentor to me. She taught me a lot throughout my time working at HCMI and did her best to help with my internship schedule. She loved to tell stories about her family, gardening and of biking her adventures. She will be miss by many.

My deepest sympathy for Jay and Bob and the Harris family at the wrenching loss of our beloved Betsy.  I am so very thankful for the many happy memories of our childhood together that I will always treasure.

Dear Betsy,
You, my friend, will be missed! believe you are gone from this world. I can't "Thank You" enough for hiring me 34 years ago at Palm Garden of Tampa! I walked in on a Sunday... you were washing dishes, Ralph was cooking, and Gussie was managing the kitchen.  You took a chance on me - Thank You! I am still with our company to this day. You were an amazing mentor - you taught me so much! Thank You for that!  I can still hear your infectious laugh which always made me smile! So many good times! I spoke to several people the last few days that we both knew... so many great stories have been shared. I truly enjoyed working with you. You were tough, you were fair, and you were always there for your team...I will never forget you. I am honored to have worked with you and even more honored to call you, my friend. 
Rest in Peace Betsy. 


I can't believe I didn't get to say goodbye. I have memories of Betsy's laugh filling the halls of  NHC (Health Center of Merritt Island) I would go looking for her and could always pick out her distinguished voice, or laughter.  Let's not forget her calves from riding her bike! I have never seen anyone with her strong legs! 
I remember her long hair and asking her if she would ever cut it!  We had the best laughs in her office! The idea for the Omelet station was the best, she made the best omelets  :)  She loved her son so much! Everything was about Jay! I can still hear her stories about him, and the proud smile whenever she would show off school pictures, she loved him so much. I still remember laughing at stories of Jay's genius ways of breaking rules and not thinking Betsy knew!! She would laugh about it all the time.
I miss her dearly and I know it's not goodbye but see you later.  Dear Betsy you are missed ❤️

I’m very sorry to hear of Betsy’s passing today.  She played a special role in my life as my first real boss back in 1992 when I worked for her as a consultant dietitian.  She was a great leader and seem to always make the toughest work situations fun!  Betsy always had that contagious smile and an unforgettable laugh.  I have so many happy memories related to spending time with her and I’m truly blessed to have had her in my life.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and I hope in time they find peace with her passing.  I’ll never forget her and will cherish all she taught me and the time we spent together.  Rest In Peace my dear friend and mentor.
