Enid Stanley, the fifth of eight children born to Archibald and Ivy Stanley, went to her eternal rest on Tuesday June 21st, aged 81, following a brief illness. She was comforted by her daughter, Andrea Webster née Miller and her youngest brother Lloyd Stanley.
Born in Saint Ann Jamaica on April 18, 1941, she attended Clarkson school after which she briefly apprenticed as a seamstress. In 1961 Enid emigrated to Derby UK, joining her older siblings, where she realized her dream of becoming a nurse. She practiced in Derby until her return to Jamaica in 1970 where she continued nursing while also caring for her ailing father. In 1994 she emigrated with her daughter to the United States where she continued her caregiving until her retirement in 2012.
Enid was loved and cherished by her family and close friends. Never more than a phone call away to provide a listening ear to soothe the worried heart. A great teller of family stories, she laughed with her whole body and loved with her whole heart.
Enid leaves behind the aching hearts of her heartbroken daughter Andrea, beloved son-in-law Kirk, surviving siblings Sylvia, Charlie, Zie, and Lloyd, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends, and former colleagues.
