

Esther Tenner, 94, of New York died peacefully at 9:13 AM, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Brookdale Island Lake, Longwood, FL under the care of her physician Dr. Douglas Jay Sprung, Vitas Healthcare as well as the staff in Assisted Living at Brookdale. Esther relocated from New York to Florida in 2010. She was lovingly cared for by private aides Gloria Cano and Carmen Vargas who became like daughters to her and family to other local family members.
Esther is survived by her beloved sister Florence Goldman, a brother, niece Denise Sprung, nephews Steven, Eric, Brian, Gregory, Kenneth, Josh, nieces Katherine, Eileen, Amy, Kayla and other family and friends in Florida, New York and Georgia. She leaves behind memories forever etched in the minds of those who loved her and came to know her. A woman born into a family of 5 children, second to the oldest taking on a role of caretaker for the family at a very young age. Throughout Esther’s life she provided generously to loved ones and to many of her favorite charities. She spent her entire working life at the New York Housing Authority as an Administrator, retiring as a respected and appreciated employee. In her spare time she had a passion for the theater, reading and writing, she enjoyed having discussions on current events and especially enjoyed being around children, which would always bring a smile to her face. It is Esther’s smile, eternal warm blessings for others and kindness that will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
