

Eugene Edward Lennon was born October 10, 1933 in Orlando, Florida to Henry and Leona (Rouse) Lennon and went to be with our Lord on July 17, 2016. Gene was a life-long Florida resident. He proudly served in the USMC during the Korean War, was a member of the Circumnavigators Club, and participated in the Far East and Around the World Cruise. He continued to actively support our military through various military organizations. He worked 30 years for Southern Bell while giving 15 years of service to the Bell-Tel Credit Union and is a Life Member in the Telephone Pioneers. He loved to race cars and acquired his official NASCAR card in the 1950s on the Daytona Beach Road Course. In later years he enjoyed and collected antique cars. Following the footsteps of his family, he remained active in the citrus and cattle industry in Central Florida. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children, Elizabeth (Glenn), Eugene Jr (Donna), Dana and Eric (Christina), his grandchildren, Jason (Kandice), Devin, Vanessa, Killeen, Henry and Charlotte … his Great-grandchildren, Taylen, Colton and Blake, as well as by many loving nieces and nephews. Gene was a kind, loyal and devoted man with a great sense of humor who lived life with abundance, loved people, his family, his country and his God. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 10-11 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Drawdy Rouse Cemetery.
