Ferdi, as he was known by family and friends, was born in Milan, Italy, and spent his early years between Italy and Spain after losing his father during World War II. He was raised by his mother and grandparents, along with his brother, who also passed away at a young age.
He lived and worked in several countries throughout his life, including Italy, Ecuador, Colombia, and the United States. He was fluent in Italian, Spanish, French, English, and Latin, and had a deep appreciation for family, culture, and friends.
He was a devoted husband to Nella and a caring father to his two children, Agatha and Luis. He was known for his intellect, classy demeanor, and love of cooking and entertaining. He was a good man with a strong faith throughout his life.
In his final years, he faced numerous health challenges which affected his ability to connect in the ways he once had. Despite these challenges his typical answer to how are you doing was: “Surviving” which showed that until the near end he hung on to living life peacefully accepting his circumstances.
He will be greatly missed. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, and in the presence of God and surrounded by loved ones.
We would love for all who remember him to share your own thoughts and photos of Ferdi.
Additionally, if you are able to please join us for a brief prayer service in his honor on August 23rd at 10:00 am at Baldwin Fairchild Oviedo Chapel. 501 E Mitchell Hammock Road Oviedo, Florida 32765.
