October 5, 1949 – July 1, 2026
Gary Martinet, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2026, at the age of 76.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Warren Martinet Jr. and Francis "Tance" Martinet.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 53 years, Glenda Martinet; his daughters, Amanda Martinet Varmuza (Eric) and Audrey Martinet Walker (Jared); his cherished grandchildren, Caitlin Bateson, Delaney Bateson, Blake Varmuza, Naomi Walker, Cope Walker, and Riggs Walker; his brother, Greg Martinet; and many extended family members, lifelong friends, and countless others whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Gary was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, faithful friend, and follower of Jesus Christ. For almost 53 years, he shared a beautiful marriage with Glenda, who was not only the love of his life but also his very best friend. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and unconditional love.
Gary never met a stranger. He loved people, loved to laugh, and had a remarkable gift for conversation. Whether you met him for five minutes or knew him for fifty years, you were likely to leave feeling like a friend. His kindness, generosity, quick wit, and enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Alongside Glenda, Gary built Automatic Coax & Cable, growing it from humble beginnings into a respected manufacturing company serving the aerospace, defense, medical, and high-reliability electronics industries. He believed that taking care of people was always good business. Customers became friends, employees became family, and he took great pride in building a company known for its integrity, quality, and lasting relationships.
Golf was one of Gary's greatest passions. To him, it was never just a game. It was where friendships were built, life lessons were shared, and character was tested. He loved the competition, the challenge, and the camaraderie that surrounded the game, but more than anything, he treasured the relationships it created.
Whether in business, on the golf course, or at home with his family, Gary believed deeply in the importance of character. He often shared lessons from Scripture, Rudyard Kipling's If—, the writings of C.S. Lewis, and the timeless principles found in How to Win Friends and Influence People. Those influences reflected the principles by which he lived: integrity, perseverance, humility, generosity, and genuine care for others. He believed a person's character mattered far more than their accomplishments and challenged those around him to become the very best version of themselves.
Above all else, Gary loved Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life and the source of his hope. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds peace in the promise that he is now in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served.
Gary's life will be remembered not for what he accumulated, but for the people he loved, the faith he lived, the business he built, the friendships he cherished, and the example he leaves behind. His greatest legacy lives on in the character he modeled and the countless lives he touched.
A private funeral service and burial will be held for family and invited guests.
