George R. Johnston of Oviedo passed away suddenly on September 24, at Florida Hospital South. George was born July 26, 1937 in Joliet, IL. He graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1955, then joined the Marine Corps in 1960 and was Honorably Discharged after 6 years of service.
After military service, George worked for Texaco , Inc. for 35 years before retiring.
George is preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna Johnston; three brothers ,James, Leslie and Robert. He is survived by his wife, Carol of 44 years; two sons; Mark Christopher Johnston and (fiancée)Heather Lipsey of Oviedo, Mike and Jacque Quiram of Shorewood, IL; four grandchildren, Michael F. Quiram, Christina, Mackenzie Lipsey, and Charlotte Johnston.
There will be a Memorial Service at Baldwin Fairchild Oviedo Chapel, 501 E. Mitchell Hammock Road, Oviedo, FL 32765 on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with full Military Honors. A reception will be at the Chapel after services.
