Born in Washington D.C. on March 30, 1949 to Hollace K. McPherson, Sr. and Ruth Robey McPherson, Hollace’s family moved to Central Florida in 1956. He attended Forest Lake Academy, South Seminole Junior High, Lyman High School, Waynesboro High School in Pennsylvania and Orlando Junior College.
A hard-working entrepreneur, Hollace excelled in sales and relationship building. He pursued three different careers, making many life-long friends along the way. He began his first career working as a beekeeper for Western States Apiaries in 1966 before starting his own business, McPherson Apiaries, in 1974. His work in honey production gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, keeping bees in Florida, South Dakota and Minnesota.
In 1981, Hollace left the bee industry to pursue a career in commercial real estate, first with DSJ Developments followed by positions with J. Wallace & Associates and Ackley Realty. In 1995 he left commercial real estate for a new venture in promotional products sales and consulting with Business Boosters of Orlando. In 2008 he founded Infinity Promotions, and later worked for Color Reflections in Philiadelphia before his retirement.
Hollace will be remembered for his sharp wit and sense of humor, as well as his competitive spirit both on and off the golf course. He was a passionate sports fan, especially of the Florida Gators, and loved watching football, baseball, softball and golf. He also loved music, nature, animals and, most of all, his family.
Left to cherish Hollace’s memory are his wife, Sandy Stevens McPherson, daughter Kelly Lancaster and her husband, Dylan, his sister, Barbara Dizon and her husband, Steve, and beloved nephews and nieces. Hollace was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Linda Davis and Norma Nicoloff, and brother Steve McPherson.
We wish to thank the many dear family, friends, neighbors and our church family at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo who supported Hollace with your love, prayers and compassion throughout his illness. At Hollace’s request, there will be no formal service. The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life at a later date. We suggest those wishing to honor Hollace’s life donate to your favorite charity in his honor or to one of his: The National Wildlife Federation – nwf.org -- or St. Joseph’s Indian School -- stjo.org.
