Jeffrey Joseph Radcliffe, age 52, passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends on May 11th. Jeffrey was born in Parma Ohio, on July 18, 1973. He lived a life filled with adventure, loyalty, and a deep love for those closest to him.
Jeff’s ambition carried him across six different states throughout his life, including Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Florida. He graduated from Virginia Tech University with a BA degree in Communications in 1995, and worked tirelessly to become a successful Sportscaster. Jeff found joy in telling the unique stories of local athletes along with teams including the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Rays through his own lens and pen. Jeff’s voice helped generations of Lions Fans fall in love with the Orlando City Soccer FC as the first play by play announcer. Jeff held that position for 8 years. All of Jeff’s professional experiences ultimately lead to a true life calling in teaching prospective Sportscasters at the Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL.
In addition to being the consummate professional, Jeff pursued his hobby of “highpointing” (i.e., hiking to the highest point) in every state in the country. He made it to the highest point in 46 states. His next goal was hiking the length of the Appalachian trail in sections. He completed over 350 miles.
Jeff was classically trained in music, had a melodic voice, and taught himself how to play guitar. Jeff was also an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Reds fan.
Above all else, Jeff adored his wife Jennifer Zitney Radcliffe, and treasured the life that they built together. He was a devoted father to his sons, Logan and Ashton, whom he loved beyond measure.
