Govoruhk, John Chiefwas born May 4, 1928 in Baltimore, MD to the late Jakob and Anna Govoruhk. He served 20 yrs of service in the USCG whereafter he served as Chief of Police and City Manager of Winter Springs from 1974-1996. During that time he met his other half Anita Ruth Drake and was a devoted husband for 52 years, until her passing in 2010. He has spent the last 13 yrs living in Enterprise, AL. Surviors include five children: David Rorick, Goodlettsville, TN; Terri Murray, Landrum, SC; John T. Govoruhk, Winter Springs, FL; Ruth Griffin, Leslie Lane, both of Enterprise, AL; twelve grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the "Volunteer Program" at Kindred Hospice @ 334-347-3353. Funeral Visitation will be held April 20th, 11-12a.m. @ Baldwin Fairchild, Oviedo, FL with service to follow.
