Josué lived his life verse to the fullest: “Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9.
Josué means “Joshua” in Spanish, and his parents named him after this warrior of God; Josué became a warrior too, strong and courageous. He was fiercely loyal to his God, family and friends. He loved to worship the Lord with the voice of an angel. His presence filled the room, and his happiness was contagious. Josué didn't walk around preaching sermons, but he lived one. He lived it in the way he showed up, the way he served, the way he honored others, not just with his words, but with his time, consistency, and kindness. Especially for special needs kids and their families. He gave dignity while meeting their needs and treating them with a balance of patience and structure. He earned trust and great respect from these families they will never forget. He would never back down from anything, especially when sushi was involved or someone wanted to know about Jesus. Explosive energy, life of the party, and we never knew what he would start. His creative and active mind led him to all kinds of sports, including playing baseball as a kid and enjoying F1 as an adult. His love for all things “Geek” led him to be a first-class D&D Dungeon Master, lightsaber duelist, and happiest man alive when he met his best friend Danielle at a game night and made her his wife in November 2020. He even became “Uncle Batman” to a pair of very special children and their parents, a name he wore proudly.
Josué was many family firsts including the first son, the first grandson and the first godson. Everyone waited for him to be born, and now we wait to see him again in God's kingdom with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Josué, husband, son, brother, friend…you are loved by so many and so much, and you will be greatly missed. Until we meet again.
He is survived by his wife, Danielle Torres Burgos; parents Luis Torres and Maricel Burgos; siblings Grecia Torres and Kris Torres. He is also survived by in-laws Perry and Audrey Mallory, Andrew Mallory, Deonna Torres, and Reverend Richard and Betty Mullins.
