Lawrence Thomas Siudmak

Lawrence Thomas Siudmak, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away after a four-year battle with brain cancer on August 20, 2026, at 11:36 p.m., surrounded by love. He was 34 years old, passing just 24 minutes before his 35th birthday.

Lawrence was born on August 21, 1991, in Winter Park, Florida, to Paul and Adlin “Ali” (Sanchez) Siudmak. He spent most of his childhood in Oviedo, where he grew up alongside his two older sisters, Alexis and Holly. From an early age, Lawrence had a carefree spirit and a remarkable propensity for somehow finding himself injured.

Lawrence was in the first graduating class of Hagerty High School in 2009. He attended the University of Central Florida, where he earned his bachelor's degree and worked with the football team. His love of sports remained a lifelong passion. He didn't simply enjoy sports; he loved being part of them, talking about them, following them, and sharing them with the people around him. He found joy in the simple rituals and experiences that filled everyday life. Jeopardy was a nightly tradition, watching as the family gathered around the dinner table. He enjoyed food in every form: trying new restaurants and dishes, watching cooking shows, and making dinner for his family. Music was another constant in Lawrence's life; he especially liked experiencing it live. Concerts became a meaningful part of the story he shared with Katheryne, creating some of their favorite memories together. He liked to stay informed about the world around him and the issues affecting the freedoms and liberties he believed were important to protect. Lawrence's faith was also an important part of his life. Especially during his younger years, he was active in his church, serving in many ways.

But Lawrence was never defined solely by what he loved; he was defined by how he loved. He was calm, gentle, and deeply loving, with a steadiness that reflected his ability to remain positive even in completely dark times, continuing to look for reasons to laugh, hope, and be grateful.

Lawrence cherished his family. He met Katheryne “Katye” (Mailander) Siudmak while they were both in college. Their first date was on Valentine's Day in 2014, and they married on July 10, 2017, a day chosen to combine their favorite numbers. Together, they welcomed two children, Landon and Adelaide, who were his greatest source of joy. He loved being their dad, and he wanted each of them to know that the moment he first saw them was among the proudest and most meaningful moments of his life.

Those closest to Lawrence will remember the big things, but also the little things that made him unmistakably himself: his constant allergy-induced sniffles, his incredibly loud sneezes, and the way he would sing and dance along to his favorite songs. Katye will remember things that drove her crazy, but she would give anything to have back: Lawrence constantly asking for “scratchies,” and putting his feet against her leg in bed simply because he wanted to be touching her. She will remember all the little, seemingly insignificant ways he reached for her without even thinking about it.

Those were the things that made up a life.

Lawrence's greatest legacy is the love he gave and the people he leaves behind carrying that love with them. There is no way to make sense of losing someone who should have had so many more birthdays, football seasons, family traditions, and ordinary Tuesdays with the people he loved. But there is gratitude for every one of those moments he was given. His absence will be felt in songs on the radio, during football games, around the dinner table, at Christmas lights, and in all the ordinary places where his presence once made life feel complete. Lawrence was here. He was loved. He was someone's husband, someone's father, someone's son and brother, someone's best friend, and someone's person. He was a UCF Knight; and, in the words he would have known so well, he will always Charge On.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Katheryne; children, Landon and Adelaide; parents, Paul and Ali; sisters Alexis (Justin) Day and Holly (Rey) Rivera; and many more cherished family and friends. The family extends their deepest gratitude to AdventHealth and the many teams who cared for Lawrence throughout his four-year journey, including those in surgery, oncology, radiation, research, and hospice. Their compassion, expertise, and care will never be forgotten. Additionally, the family would like to express appreciation to Melissa’s Race. Their dedication to funding research for brain cancer is making a difference. Lawrence was proud to serve as their ambassador in May of 2024.

A celebration of Lawrence’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Crosslife in Oviedo, 45 E Broadway Street. Pastor Dwayne Mercer will be officiating the service. A visitation will be held just before the service from 10:30 A.M. at Crosslife.
