Makhi Luis Hernandez was born with purpose. From the beginning, he walked with the mindset of a man far beyond his years intelligent, serious, funny, and driven by something rare: inner fire and a big heart.
Makhi didn't wait for life to give him permission.
Straight out of high school, he became a plumber with Roto-Rooter, already working toward his goal of becoming a master plumber and building his own commercial company. He had big dreams not for himself alone, but to retire his mother, protect his sister, spoil his siblings, and travel the world with his brothers. He wanted to give everyone around him a better life.
He was athletic, muscular, focused, and relentlessly hardworking.
He loved the gym, basketball, music, eating, sleeping, and his job. But above all, he loved his family. His brothers admired him even his older brother, Elian, looked up to his ambition. His twin, Noah, was inspired by his example. His little sister knew that no matter what, Makhi was her guardian, her rock. He lived to be the one they could always count on.
Makhi's presence lit up the room.
Whether he was joking around, setting goals, or discovering something new like boating or jet skiing his energy was magnetic. His heart was huge, even if he didn't always show it. Under that strong, no-nonsense exterior was a soul that was tender, thoughtful, and deeply loving.
He just bought a car he was proud of. He was excited about life.
He had so much ahead of him. So much he was already accomplishing. So much he was building.
And now, we're left with the unthinkable a senseless tragedy that stole him far too soon.
But Makhi is not gone. He lives in every life he touched. In every brother he inspired. In every person he showed what it means to grind, love, and lead.
His legacy is in the hearts he shaped in his mother's eyes, in his father's soul, in his siblings' drive to be great like him.
"Honestly, every time I was with him was a moment and now a memory.
His entire life was my favorite."
Luis, his father
Makhi, you are forever loved.
You are forever ours.
We will carry your name with honor and everything you stood for until we meet again.
