

Mark Robert Ybarra, age 77, of Oviedo, Florida, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025. He was born on December 30, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa. Mark was the youngest of 12 siblings: 6 of whom were boys and 6 were girls. His mom Jessie Avila died when he was 18 years old, and he lost his dad Ralph Ybarra the same month of September nine years later.
Mark enlisted in the United States Army in November 1966, two months after his mom passed. On August 9, 1967, at age 19, he got wounded, making him a recipient of a Purple Heart. Mark served in the Army until February 1970 with his highest rank being Specialist E-4; nothing short of a War Hero.
He is survived by his wife Martha Ybarra, his sons Edwin and Mark, and his granddaughter Naida.
Mark was a funny guy who really enjoyed traveling, most of the time on road trips. He loved listening to Classic Rock and was a huge fan of the Beatles. Due to his past traumas, Mark struggled expressing love and affection to those close to him. However, he did show it through unspoken actions. For all of those who witnessed his existence, he will surely be missed, loved and remembered.
