

Michael Mark Connors, age 62 of Orlando, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 after an eighteen- month battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1954 in Newport News, Virginia. He is survived by two brothers, Patrick, Irvine, CA, and Thomas, Orlando, FL (Donna), one sister, Ellyn McCarthy, Reidsville, NC, three nieces Kimberly, Pleasanton, CA (Gary), Melissa McCarthy, Reidsville, NC and Cameron Brockmyre, Houston, TX (Hugh), two nephews, Brian, Irvine, CA (Mary) and William McCarthy, Greensboro, NC (Ashley), four great nephews and two great nieces. Mark was raised in Newport News, VA, and was a 1976 graduate of Virginia Tech. He enjoyed college football, and was passionate about the Virginia Tech Hokies. He worked in the pharmaceutical sales business for over forty years, working for major companies including Pfizer and Rugby. Mark lived in Los Angeles, Chicago, New Jersey and Nashville prior to moving to Orlando. He has friends in each area of the country in which he lived. Mark was an animal lover, donating countless hours to various animal rescue organizations. He also loved going to the beach, and was never happier than when he ended up at the ocean. Mark enjoyed playing golf, and was knowledgeable about the sport. He liked live music of any variety, and would often take trips to attend concerts. Mark enjoyed traveling; a trip he made to Cuba with his cousin made a lifelong impression on him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be planned in the future for Mark.
