Pamela Annette Shaw (née Maynard) passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024. She was 65. Services will be held on Monday, February 12th of 2024 at 11:00 am at Redemption Church Christmas, Florida. She will be interred at the National Cemetery at Cape Canaveral.
Pam’s family was the focus of her life. She now rejoins her mother and father in heaven, and is survived by her beloved family: her husband Robert; their daughter Rebecca and her spouse David; their daughter Victoria and her spouse John; their son Justin and his spouse Nancy; and her 10 grandchildren: Grant, Grady, Tayler, Jameson, Bailey, Railynn, Denise, Carter, Lukas, and Penelope. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Tina and Craig Ouellette of Pembroke MA; Frances and Mark Zaro of Hanson MA; and Larry and LoAnn Maynard of Hanover, MA.
Pam invested in the growth and wellbeing of others, loving and nurturing extended family as her own. Her early years were spent in service to the church, commonly through the piano: Spreading the gospel through song was her fervent passion. She met her life’s love Robert Shaw through the church, and married him in 1978; dutifully, she accompanied and supported Robert through his enlistment as a Corpsman in the United States Navy. She stayed at home to raise Becky and Tory, establishing the core of their family, and settled in Orlando in her final home in 1994, where they would remain together until her death.
Pam was a natural leader with a commanding presence; she was fast to identify the root of a problem, lay out a plan of attack, and execute it, wielding her family as a formidable team. She had innate business savvy and loved the thrill of making a deal. She took the time to understand people as individuals, and was an effective communicator, and staunch advocate. In the surviving family, Pam’s absence is felt immensely.
Pam spent much of her later years helping to raise her grandchildren, bonding with them over her love of Disney films, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse; she proudly and regularly admitted to spoiling them absolutely rotten, as was her right as their Nena.
