On the morning of September 22, 2020, Richard H. Drew of Oviedo, Florida died at the age of 86. “Dick” Drew is survived by his wife Cecilia, his children Debbie Daniels, Sue Ellen Love, Russell Drew, Erica Steady and Jennifer Costello as well as his step-children Paul Bergeron, Judy Spears, Donna Boane, JoAnne Walker and Cathy Rodriguez. He is also survived by his sister Claribel Clapper and brother Ernest Drew, twenty-four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Dick spoke fondly of his humble beginnings in the small mountain town of Temple, New Hampshire and was proud of the values of hard work and honesty that were instilled in him as a child and young man. After serving his country in the US Army, Dick worked as a long-haul trucker for Coca-Cola before transitioning to his final career as a truck driver and machine operator for the Town of Milford, N.H. After his retirement, Dick and his wife Cecilia moved to Florida, where his love for “tinkering” led him to a retirement hobby of working on small engines. Dick became well known in the town of Oviedo as an expert in lawn equipment repair for local residents. Rarely a day went by that he was not out in his garage visiting with a friend or neighbor who stopped by.
Dick was a mild-mannered man who adored his wife Cecilia and deeply loved his family. He hosted family gatherings every Sunday at his home in Oviedo. Dick loved the activity of his children, grandchildren and friends coming each weekend for coffee and treats and shared his sense of humor with his witty one-liner jokes. His welcoming smile and warm heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
