

He was born in Hanover, New Hampshire on July 20, 1932. Roger graduated from Hanover High School.
Roger proudly served his country in the Air Force stateside during the Korean War. He registered in 1950 and received an honorable discharge in 1960. Part of his service was spent at the Aberdeen proving ground, which supplied him with many stories. A few related to aircraft maintenance and nerve gas control. Most memorable was how tarantula spiders would drop off the aircraft when a particular altitude as reached.
He received an Integrated Circuits certification from The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 1968. While working and supporting his family, he proceeded to earn an Associate in Arts degree in Business Administration from Worcester Junior College in 1972.
He was married to Gail Elizabeth Lemere on September 12, 1959.
Roger worked for the State of New Hampshire controlling/eradicating white pine blister rust. During this time, there was a current bush, a host plant for blister rust, which resided in the front yard of his future wife’s maternal grandmother. He felt he would not be in good standing if he removed it. His supervisor understood and agreed to monitor not remove this bush.
Roger had a career in Electronic Component Sales after receiving his degree. He spent 28 years with Sprague Electric Company in Concord New Hampshire, Worchester, Massachusetts and finally ending in North Adams, Massachusetts. After Vishay took over Sprague’s capacitor product line; Roger moved to Texas and spent 11 years supporting sales of the electronics line for Bonser-Philhower Sales.
Roger had a passion for gardening, Sudoku, and reading but mostly spending time with family and friends. In his younger years, Roger liked to be a Handyman. He enjoyed sharing stories about his life, pounding his fist for emphasis when needed for added effect. Roger and Gail enjoyed camping, which started with a tent, and later in life they graduated to an RV. In 2000, they moved from Texas to Florida to help with after school care for the three Allen grandsons. The Allen children enjoyed a few trips with them in the RV to New Hampshire to visit family and friends. After Gail’s passing, Roger spend most Sundays with the Allen family enjoying football, Hallmark movies and watching his family grow. He continued to visit the New Hampshire branch of the family almost every year during Thanksgiving until 2020. During his last trip, he was heard stating that he finally became the oldest at the family Thanksgiving gathering. He recently commented that he had an abundance of wonderful memories and was looking forward to making more. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by wife Gail, parents James John and Marion Maud (Hart) Lemere, brothers Lloyd and David Lemere and sisters Rose and Shirley Lemere.
He is survived by three children, Brian, Brent (Debbie) Lemere and Terasa Allen (Stan); grandchildren John (Stephanie), Roger (Lindsay), Charles Allen and Joshua Lemere; great-grandchildren Christopher, Maddison and Abigail Allen and brother James Lemere.
The family will host a celebration of life service at 3 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 501 E. Mitchell Hammock Road, Oviedo, Florida 32765 with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
