It is with much sadness that we tell you that Roslyn Brock Brick, age 72 of Oviedo, Florida went to be with Jesus on Friday, February 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving and devoted husband, her 3 adoring daughters. She left this world for heaven, peacefully, in her own bed, following a long battle with various illnesses.
Roslyn, sometimes called Roz or Rosebud (by her beloved husband) was born in Bainbridge, Georgia and was raised in Cairo, Georgia. She lived in Oviedo since 1988.
Roslyn was preceded in death by her parents Cecil Brock and Fannie Dodson Brock (Lake Wales, FL), and by her oldest brother Nolan Brock (Lake Wales, Fl). Roslyn is survived by her brother Verlyn Brock (Sandra) of Moultrie, Georgia and her sister Ann Brock Taylor (Greg) of Lake Wales, Fl. Roslyn is also survived by her loving husband, of almost 53 years Michael Brick. Roslyn was mom, mentor, cheerleader and best friend to her 3 daughters, Michelle Dedmon (James) of Pennsylvania, Maggie Brick Rondeau (Stephen) of Massachusetts, and her youngest daughter, Amanda Brick Leonard, also from Oviedo. She was a beloved Aunt to many nephews and nieces. Roslyn, or Mamaw, as she was lovingly called by them, had 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. She also had one great-granddaughter and a brand new great-grandson.
Roslyn worked at Citizen’s Bank of Oviedo for eighteen years, and got to know most of the customers by name. Customers often commented that she always had a smile and a warm greeting. Roslyn was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord. She never missed an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus, either through word or deed. She was a very compassionate and caring person who would do anything for anyone in need.
Towards the end of her life, when she realized she was dying, she told us she was ok with that because she “knew where she was going”. That gives each of us she left behind strength to get through our loss of her because we too know where she is going and we will see her again one sweet day.
A funeral mass/service for Roslyn will be held on Friday, March 5th at 12:00pm at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Oviedo. There will be a viewing at the church at 11:00am, one hour prior to the service. Please be aware that during this Lenten season, please do not send flowers to the funeral home or the church. Normal CDC pandemic guidelines must be followed.
“God will wipe every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow,
nor crying. There shall be no more pain; for the old things have passed away”. Revelation 21:4
