Roy was born in Sanford, Florida on April 25, 1944 and graduated from Oviedo High School. He went to Barber College in Miami, FL.
He was married to Diane Spencer Wainright on March 5th, 2011. Roy worked in barbering and retail for Dillards.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, and he had a passion for fishing, woodworking and gardening.
Roy is survived by his wife Diane, son Gregg Laforte and his bonus children, Rusty Spencer and Jody Spencer; brother Benne Wainright, sister Joy Church and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on October 23, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, located at 501 E Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo, FL 32765, United States.
Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at the same venue from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
