Stefan is survived by his wife, Amy, of nearly 25 years and Nathan, their son. He is also survived by his mother, Donna Lehman, stepfather Terry Lehman, sister Sara MacPherson (Erick), step-brother, David Lehman, Mother-in-law, Janice DeMuth (Frederick, deceased) and brother-in-law, Marc DeMuth. Stefan also leaves behind 2 nephews and 1 niece along with a large extended family, his Oviedo Fire Department family, and many friends.
Stefan was born in Tallahassee, Florida on August 8, 1972, and moved to the Orlando area as a toddler. He attended area schools and graduated from Lake Mary High School in 1991. Stefan enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school and was positioned on the USS Ranger and USS Constellation in San Diego, CA. After receiving an honorable discharge, he attended the Seminole Fire Academy where he became an EMT and Firefighter. “Snuffy” was a proud member of the Oviedo Fire Department, where after nearly 25 years of service, he retired in 2021 as Lieutenant.
Stefan was known for his crazy sense of humor, loud booming voice, love for his family, friends, the fire department, and his staunch patriotism. He was passionate about hunting and stimulating conversations about current affairs and politics and being a fire fighter. He loved reminiscing about his Uncle Kevin McElroy taking him hunting as a young child and he loved teaching his own son about hunting and shooting. You could always find him in the evenings on the driveway or around a fire pit talking with the guys and anyone walking or driving by. Stefan was a wonderful cook and enjoyed using the smoker at the camp, the station and with his best friend, Steve Farris, for family and church gatherings.
His most significant love was for his wife, Amy and son, Nathan. Stefan’s physical presence will be missed immeasurably but his devotion and deep love will be remembered and felt for eternity. God bless his soul and those who love him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of Central Florida Bunker, 3400 North Tanner Road, Orlando, Florida 32826.
