Some of my favorite Strini sayings:
"Hey, Mate" (his most common greeting over IM or text or in person)
"I hear what you're saying.  Let me follow up and we will have a conversation about that on our next call" (Strini's go-to comment when customers would have an issue that he didn't have an update on)
"Holy smokes!" (wide eyes and said when something went wrong)
"Oh shoot!" (hand on face slowly sliding downward - also said when something went wrong)
"I kid, I kid" (when he said a very dryly delivered joke and you thought he was serious)
"Just give me a minute" (normally said when Strini needed to break away and have a smoke)
"Sorry to disturb" (if he saw you were "busy" on IM and needed to talk to you)
What I think I hold in highest regard about him was his integrity and class.  Strini was that guy that always held a door open for a stranger, always said hi, how are you? or good morning! before getting to business discussion.  He was always honest with customers and co-workers and wasn't afraid to speak his mind but always kept it classy with the customers.  He was dedicated to his job and gave all of the customers his cell phone number - very brave in customer support!  He'd always take your call any time of day or night.  Strini was "smooth".  He could deliver bad news like no one I've ever met and always made customers feel like he had their back and all would be ok.  The man's voice should have been on radio as it was so distinctive and calming.  He was the life of the party and so much fun to travel with - you looked forward to the beers and the hilariouos conversations.  I am honored to have known Strini, and although he reported to me at Temenos, he taught me so very much in so many ways.  Sugi and the kids - he spoke of you all of the time with wide-eyed enthusiasm and so much love - family was #1 to him.  I will miss you my friend and and I have no doubt you're solving problems in Heaven just as you did here!  God Bless!

I met Strini back in 2010 in Trinidad and he always had a smile on his face. We've communicated over the phone since then (he always promised to visit Trinidad again) and he was always so very helpful and always went beyond the call of duty to assist whenever I called him. I will defininitely miss him. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Strini, I have visited this site multiple times trying to find the right words to write here.  Our time together at Temenos was short, but I will always remember your smile, laugh and amazing voice. You were always so welcoming and the first one to say hello to me at the office. You would go out of your way to check in and just see how things were.   I am forever grateful for knowing you.  To Strini's amazing son's, know that your dad was such a caring and kind man. He always would share stories with me about you all, I could see how proud he was of you all.  He will be greatly missed.  May fond memories of your dad bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share those moments with him, and treasure those moments. My prayers go out to you and your family. 


Strini, I had the pleasure to know you for 15 years - as a colleague and as a friend,  - you are a man that really did care for others, -  and always ready with a smile.
You are fondly remembered by all who know you, and sorely missed by all of us.

We were all stunned by your passing. While I only got to know you for a brief period of time I will never forget that wonderful laugh and great voice. Your dedication to helping your fellow teammates and customers was one of your great qualities. You were clearly a very caring person. Strini, it was shocking to hear about your tragic passing. I remember when you hired me 14 years ago in New York City; working with you on many projects in New York and later on in Florida. I fondly remember the good times working together and the friendship we had over all those years. You had a special gift to approach people and make them feel comfortable. You will be dearly missed.
May God watch over your family and comfort them in their loss giving them strength to go forward.


I am still stunned at your departure, mate. I miss the intelligent conversations – discussions that ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous! You had humor, smarts and an overriding sense of positivity and a perspective that only comes with experience: that, you had in spades. And, that, my friend, is a shocking loss. 

Strini was a mate and one I shan't forget. I only knew him for a relatively short while but our friendship flowered and I expected it to flourish further. Nonetheless, because of him, my own life is enriched and I can only imagine the future his family will forge because of his legacy.

'Swinger, sometimes during our most inebbreviated moments the words could still flow easily....today you have us at a loss....stumped, caught & bowled, out for a duck. We can only walk head bowed at our loss. Had we seen you heading out for a six, we could have reached out to try and take that catch but alas you were too fast....too far out and your aim to high. In the circle of life, all things subsist and do not die, but retire a little from sight and afterwards return again in one form or another. Strini, you retired from sight, in a way that shocked us all. We wish you could return again as you were but alas we can't have that. However at least we have all of our memories that will still keep turning with time until we each retire. But your story will go on  and be integrated into 3 more story lines to come - that of your boys.  

We have always loved and cared for you and your family, our history made that easy, just geography made it difficult. Forever in our hearts. Our love, hugs and strength to mum, Sugi and the boys, Ruben, Anita & the boys and all others helplessly crushed by your loss. From the Naicker, Moodley, Pillay &  Athimoolam families.

We still can't believe that such a young, energetic life has ended so soon. 💔 
We might not have lived close by for the last 18 or so years, but our friendship spans almost 3 decades, and those young carefree days we spent together as friends, evolved into us all becoming family.  We didn't always have to speak, or visit, but I am grateful that we did visit, as that still is one of our best holidays ever! 
What memories from our youth, all our weddings, GREAT and UNFORGETTABLE parties, our ups and downs, our own young families growing, our parents growing old, (and all dads' passing)  but who could have guessed, that we would have to live through this sad and shocking news.
Sugi, the boys, Aunty Vimla, Anita & family and everyone who was touched by a guy who ate life in big spoonfuls, our hearts break for you, and with you.💔💔💔

Strini, I want to thank you for being genuine. I want to thank you for embracing me and others as we all joined the Temenos family in recent years. Your warm and welcoming presence was apparent immediately when I first met you. I want to thank you for your support, wisdom and for a few good laughs along the way. You are one of a kind. You've made an impact on me and all those around you, and you will be missed dearly.  Your family should be proud of you for countless reasons and everyone should be as lucky as we are to have had you in our lives, even if as briefly as me.

Strini, my brother, I've had the fortune of knowing you for the past three years.   Each time that we've had the chance to meet...to work together...to break bread...or just to talk... I've been blessed by your natural confidence, calm, and assurance.   While it  is true that you illuminate rooms as you walk into them, it is more important to note that, you make sure that the light is shone on every single person in the room.  You had a talent for noticing those who are alone and ensuring that they are welcomed and comfortable in their own space. 

It could have been a challenging time when our company was acquired, but you made the entire team at a week long meeting know that, while it will take some hard work, that things would be okay.

And that is the memory that you leave behind for me: You have told us that, while there may be hard work ahead, don't worry.   Things will be okay.  

I'll miss you my brother, but will smile whenever I think of you. 

And to Greshan, Vishaylin and Shivaan: Your father was a great man.   He was honest, caring, intelligent, and dedicated, and you should be abundantly proud of him and who you are because of him.  While your lives will be forever different, I pray that you will fill the empty spaces with memories of Strini and with your love for each other and your mother.  As you go on, know that your dad could not have been prouder of each of you; he said as much each time he mentioned your names.

It has been 10 +years since we moved to Oviedo . We were neighbors since then. Our kids and your kids were so little those days. Good conversations and good friendship is what we had. We remember Sugi giving snacks and playing with the  boys and neighborhood kids including our kids those days. Strini we always enjoyed talking to you. For the last 27 years our lives have been entwined together and now I’m forced to go on without you. I have so much to say to our sons and everyone else, about you and so much l selfishly want to keep to myself. It’s hard right now to put thoughts to words cohesively. 

I thought that this last year I knew the full extent of heartbreak and loss with you and then in true Strini fashion you had to have the last word and prove me wrong. You were the life of the party, the focal point in every room and in so many lives. You had a heart of gold and even in the days since your passing I’m  still learning just how complex you were. My biggest regret is that our boys have been shortchanged in knowing you. There is so much that we still need you for and even though our paths had forked I never thought I’d have to face all their milestones ahead alone. You leave them with such a legacy of wonderful memories of your loud personality and infectious laughter, but without a doubt.... we’d rather have you here.
Our hearts are broken Strini, you were the love of my life and this is not the end of the story I wanted for us. I pray you found peace in the end, we love you.💔

Dear Strini, I remember the initial days when I moved to Florida, knowing nothing about the new place, I used to come to you with loads of questions. You were always ready to help and guide. I have met very few lively person like you. Work or after work, it is always joyful working with you. Everyone who knows you will remember your sense of humor forever.

Dear Sugi,
I am sending you love and strength  at this trying time. It is sad to hear of Strini passing on at such a young age and we are deeply saddened at this news. Mervin and I spoke over the phone as we got the news, as a way to grieve this loss too. I remember the early days of you and Strini in Daxina. Sweet memories and both of you were always fun to be with. I also studied with Strini during our BComm studies through UNISA, in the late eighties. He would spend many moments telling me how he felt about you and I was privileged to see his love for you grow.  Strini was always pleasant and fun, kind and honest. He always did his best, no matter what curve ball was thrown at him. He always sang Hindu songs too and he had a lovely voice. That is how I choose to remember him and I pray for his safe return to where he will always Rest In Peace and may all his lessons be well learned by all of us. I have so many memories of Strini, and his family too and I am grateful that we all shared some earth time together. Many hugs to your sons, your parents, and stay strong in prayer. Strini was a gentle man who loved his work and his fellow peers, while also taking great pride in supporting his customers.  He possessed a kind disposition and a soft-spoken voice, both of which endeared him to others.  Always willing to lend a hand, Strini will be missed by everyone.
