Suzanne A. Blackwood, age 79, passed away peacefully at home September 1, 2015. Born in Springfield, MA, the daughter of Francis and Dorcus Alberti. Sue was raised in Jacksonville and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Art. She was a member of the Oviedo Garden Club and the Ruth Circle of the First United Methodist Church of Oviedo. A dedicated homemaker, she worked with her husband and son in their family business, Blackwood Construction. Sue was a beautiful lady who always lit up every room she entered and touched each life in a special way.
Sue is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bernie; her son and daughter-in-law Scott and Cindy; her daughter and son-in-law Lynda and Al Benecick, her grandchildren; Robert and Lee Blackwood and Alex Benecick. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Friends are invited to attend Sue’s memorial service, Saturday, 11:30am at the First United Methodist Church of Oviedo. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice, or the Building Fund of the Oviedo United Methodist Church in memory of Sue.
