Wayne Palmer Smith

Wayne Smith was born in South Africa. A strong and courageous man, Wayne served in the South African military and was a member of the Special Forces. At the age of 23, he began a new chapter in his life when he moved to the United States, where he met his loving wife and built a beautiful life and family. Together, they were blessed with one daughter, as well as his wife’s daughter, whom he loved as his own. Eleven years ago, thanks to social media and the internet, Wayne was able to reconnect with his two half-sisters and had the opportunity to get to know them, make memories with them, and love them deeply.

Wayne was fiercely loyal to the people he loved and deeply devoted to his family. He believed in following his dreams and encouraging those he loved to follow theirs. He was very passionate about martial arts and served as a mentor to many students and friends, sharing his knowledge, discipline, and philosophy with great dedication. He was an adventurer at heart, and a man who found great joy in nature and the outdoors. Later in life, he discovered a passion for scuba diving, which became another way for him to explore the world he so deeply cherished.

He was also deeply proud of his academic and professional achievements, which reflected his determination, discipline, and lifelong commitment to growth and excellence. These accomplishments were a meaningful part of his journey and a source of pride throughout his life.

Wayne was a true animal lover, and his heart extended deeply to his beloved dogs, Draven and Munchkin, whom he considered his children. They were constant companions in his life and brought him immense joy, comfort, and unconditional love. He cared for them with the same devotion and tenderness he gave to his family, and they were an important and cherished part of his world.

During the final chapter of his life, Wayne fought incredibly hard to remain with his family. His strength and determination gave those who loved him more precious time together—time that will forever be cherished. During this time, he truly lived life to the fullest, treasuring every moment with his family, traveling back to South Africa to reconnect with loved ones, and continuing his spirit of adventure through experiences such as safaris and even swimming with sharks—embracing life with courage, joy, and gratitude until the very end.

Wayne leaves behind his beloved wife and two daughters, who carry with them a lifetime of memories, lessons, adventures, and love. He now joins his mother in paradise and begins what Wayne himself would have called not an ending, but “a celebration of rebirth into paradise.”

His adventurous spirit, strength, loyalty, love for his family, deep compassion for animals, and passion for martial arts will live on through everyone whose life he touched.
