Pacific Grove ~ Anne S. Longman passed away March 27 at her home. She was born September 17, 1924 in Metuchen, New Jersey to Charles and Grace Eldridge. A graduate of Michigan State with a B.A. in Accounting, Anne later received a Masters Degree in Education from Santa Clara University.
While living in Aptos, she was best known for her dedication and educational work serving over 1,000 special education students in Santa Cruz County. One of her most loved students was Koko, the gorilla of The Gorilla Foundation. Over the years, Anne taught Koko to read and paint.
Anne was also extremely passionate about her watercolor painting and a good game of Bridge with friends. She was a good friend to many and always had a contagious and positive outlook on the brighter side of life.
Anne is survived by her sons and their families, Jim (Karine) Strickland and her step-grandchildren, Lance and Drew and her son, Robert (Sharon) Strickland and her grandchildren, Michael and Jeffery.
