Barbara Rector Seaver

Pebble Beach ~The family and friends of Barbara R. Seaver celebrate her life and mourn her passing. Born in Berkeley, California to Gladys Brigham and Howard Burns Rector, Barbara grew up in Piedmont, California and graduated from Piedmont High School. A member of Alpha Phi sorority while attending the University of California at Berkeley, she went east to attend the Art Students League in New York City. She was a real estate broker in Honolulu for thirty years, working with two partners and twenty-five employees.

Barbara moved to Monterey in 1986 and remained active in real estate with Fox & Carskadden. In 1987, she married the renowned amateur golfer, Charles H. Seaver, and established residence in Pebble Beach. Barbara was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club in Honolulu and enjoyed traveling, home gardening and playing dominoes.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 2004 and her sister, Mary Jane Sellers, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Brooke Ackley Crowder, her granddaughter, Barbara Crowder, and two great-granddaughters, all of Oklahoma; by her brother-in-law, Coleman Sellers of Stockton and by the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of her beloved husband, Charles.
