Carol Speer Jordison

Pacific Grove ~ Carol S. Jordison, age 81, died on May 11, 2014 surrounded by her family. A native of Eugene, Oregon, Carol was the first child of Lloyd and Charlena Speer. She married Richard Jordison on November 15, 1952 and they had six children. The family moved to San Luis Obispo in 1961.

Carol grew up in Oregon, Minnesota and Southern California. She attended Occidental College, UC Davis and Cal Poly. After raising her children, Carol was an elementary school teacher for nineteen years before beginning an active retirement in Pacific Grove in 1998.

Carol and Dick volunteered for thirteen years at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as docents. Carol had a love for traveling and theater. Her travels included many continental tours with her husband and even a tour of the Holy Land. Carol also treasured family gatherings and always had the most beautiful home.

Carol is survived by her husband, Richard, to whom she was happily married for 62 years; her children, Jim (Elaine) of Templeton, California, Rosemary (Tim) of Davis, California, Rick (Marina) of Redmond, Washington, Lloyd (Susan) of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Caroline (Michael) of Santa Cruz, California and Kendra (Mark) of Granite Bay, California and her grandchildren; Samantha, Victor, Madeline, Lorenzo, Eric, Allison, Chloe, Lindsay, Austin and Sophia. Carol was predeceased by her parents.
